BBC London is the BBC English Region producing local radio, television, teletext and online services in London and parts of the surrounding area. Its output includes the daily '' BBC London News'' and weekly ''Sunday Politics'' on television, the BBC Radio London radio station and local coverage of the London area on BBC Online and BBC Red Button. The region's headquarters are situated in the new eastern extension of the BBC's Broadcasting House. Services Television The staple of the local television service is BBC London News which broadcasts daily on BBC One, appearing with short bulletins during '' BBC Breakfast'', after the ''BBC News at One'', the ''BBC News at Ten'' and ''BBC Weekend News''. BBC Red Button
BBC Red Button is a brand used for digital interactive television services provided by the BBC, and broadcast in the United Kingdom. The services replaced Ceefax, the BBC's analogue teletext service. BBC Red Button's text services were due to close on 30 January 2020, but the switch off was suspended on 29 January 2020 following protests. History and branding The service was launched on 23 September 1999 as BBC Text. It was relaunched in November 2001 under the BBCi brand and operated under this name until late 2008, when it was rebranded as BBC Red Button. The ''BBC News at Six'' is the evening news programme bulletin from the BBC. Produced by BBC News, the programme is broadcast on the BBC News (TV channel), BBC News channel and on British television channel BBC One on weekdays at 6:00pm. For a long period, the ''BBC News at Six'' was the most watched news programme in the UK but since 2006 it has been overtaken by the ''BBC News at Ten'' (10:00pm). On average it is watched by four million viewers. The programme is presented by Fiona Bruce, George Alagiah, Sophie Raworth, Clive Myrie and Reeta Chakrabarti. ''BBC Weekend News'' is the BBC's national news programme on BBC One at the weekend and bank holidays, although it is often referred to on guides simply as ''BBC News''. It is called ''BBC Weekend News'' on all bulletins, apart from the late bulletin on Sunday where it is named BBC News at Ten. The programmes are simulcast on the BBC News Channel, unless it clashes with the edition of ''World News Today'' at 9:00pm or a major news story is being covered on the News Channel.
