The A886 road in Scotland is an unusual road in the United Kingdom, located in the south of Argyll and Bute, on the Cowal peninsula and on the Isle of Bute. It has been wrongly described as the only road number to include a ferry crossing along the route - in fact the A884 also includes the crossing between Lochaline and Fishnish, on Mull. The Caledonian MacBrayne ferry service runs between Colintraive in Cowal, on the mainland, and Rhubodach on the Isle of Bute. The A815 is a major road in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It runs for about from the A83, near Cairndow, in the north to Toward in the south. It passes beside three lochs, while its final stretch is along the Firth of Clyde. Course The road begins as a T-junction with the A83, immediately east of Ardkinglas Woodland Garden. The first section of its course is in a southerly direction, along the eastern shores of Loch Fyne. Between Creggans and Strachur, the road turns east at the A886. The next loch it meets is Loch Eck, again on the eastern side. It passes through Benmore (and beside Benmore Botanic Garden) and Uig en route to Ardbeg, below Puck's Glen to the north. Coulport
Royal Naval Armaments Depot Coulport, shortened to RNAD Coulport, on Loch Long in Argyll, Scotland, is the storage and loading facility for the nuclear warheads of the United Kingdom's Trident programme. The base, near the village of Coulport, has up to 16 reinforced concrete bunkers built into the hillside on the eastern shore of Loch Long. It is the last depot in Britain to retain the "RNAD" designation, indicating a Royal Naval Armaments Depot. The depot was established during the Cold War as the storage, maintenance and loading facility for Polaris nuclear weapons. Today, Coulport is mainly used for handling Trident warheads. Two docks are located on the shoreline at the foot of the hill. There, weapons are loaded onto nuclear submarines before they go on patrol and unloaded before they return to base at nearby Faslane. The A82 is a major road in Scotland that runs from Glasgow to Inverness via Fort William, Highland, Fort William. It is one of the principal north-south routes in Scotland and is mostly a trunk road managed by Transport Scotland, who view it as an important link from the Central Belt to the Scottish Highlands and beyond.
