''B3EP'' (often referred to as simply ''B3'') is an EP by alternative rock band Placebo, released on 15 October 2012 through record label Vertigo. History In 2010, band members Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal began to publicly state that they were working on material for another studio album. On 23 November 2011, the band announced via their Facebook page and official website that they would return to the studio in 2012 to record their seventh studio album. Placebo confirmed in late May 2012 that they expect to release some tracks by the end of year, and that they have been assisted by Adam Noble (Red Hot Chili Peppers, dEUS) on a new album which will be released by the Northern Hemisphere summer in 2013. In August 2012, Molko revealed on Italy's Rai Radio 2 that a new single entitled "B3" would be released in September and a new album is expected to be released in March 2013. Placebo (band)
Placebo are a British rock band, formed in London in 1994 by vocalist–guitarist Brian Molko and bassist–guitarist Stefan Olsdal. Drummer Robert Schultzberg joined in late 1994, but left in 1996 shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album due to conflicts with Molko, and was replaced the same year by Steve Hewitt. Following the release of a demo, a split single, and their eponymous debut album, Placebo gained exposure in 1997 after the single " Nancy Boy" became popular in the UK, a song notorious at the time for its gender-bending content. The band stood out amongst the Britpop scene they were associated with at the time for their androgynous appearance and musical content, and lyrics which openly discussed sexuality, mental health, and drug use. Alan Moulder (born 11 June 1959) is an English record producer, mixing engineer, and audio engineer. Early life Moulder was born on 11 June 1959 in Boston, Lincolnshire. He was educated at Boston Grammar School. He had an interest in music from an early age, listing Cream and The Beatles among his favourite artists. The first album he bought was ''Electric Warrior'' by T. Rex, and he was impressed by the quality of the recording. Steve Forrest (born September 25, 1986) is an American drummer from Modesto, California, best known for his work with the British alternative rock band Placebo, which he left in 2015. Before joining Placebo, Forrest was drummer for the ambient rock band Evaline. He announced his intention to leave Evaline in January 2007, but remained with the band throughout their 2007 United States tour. During that tour, Evaline opened for Placebo, and Forrest came to be acquainted with them. In 2008 he took the vacant seat of Steve Hewitt. ''Battle for the Sun'' is the sixth studio album by British alternative rock band Placebo. It was recorded in Canada in 2008 and released on 8 June 2009 by record label PIAS. It is their first album with new drummer Steve Forrest, following the departure of Steve Hewitt in 2007.
