Aznavour, Sa Jeunesse
''Aznavour, sa jeunesse'' is a tribute album released on 24 November 2014 where a great number of younger French-language artists sing classic hits from Charles Aznavour. The album released under Millenium label, one of the affiliated Barclay Records label was made to coincide with the 90th birthday of the French Armenian artist born in 1924. The title of the album is also a nod to "Sa jeunesse...(Entre ses mains)", one of Aznavour's earliest singles. The album produced by the Belgian music producers The Bionix (Christian Dessart and rachid Mir) contains 15 tracks with the participation of more than twenty artists. Thirteen tracks are personal interpretations of various artists to some chosen Aznavour classic hits. The album also contains a collective rendition "Sa jeunesse" with seven acts of the collective joining Charles Aznavour himself. Grand Corps Malade
Fabien Marsaud (born 31 July 1977), known professionally as Grand Corps Malade (GCM), is a French slam poet and lyricist. He has released seven studio albums so far, all of them reaching top-five status on the French SNEP chart. GCM started writing and performing a capella at slam events in 2003. Three years later, he signed with Universal's AZ affiliate and released his debut album ''Midi 20'', which became a top-ten selling record of the year in France. Ultratop
Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Passi
Passi () is a hip hop artist who became famous in the mid-1990s with the group Ministère AMER, which included himself and Stomy Bugsy. He is most widely known, however, as a solo artist, as well as a participant in many other groups, such as Bisso Na Bisso and Dis l'heure 2 zouk. Biography Passi was born on 21 December 1972, in Brazzaville, Congo. In 1979, his family moved to Sarcelles, a suburb of Paris. "La mamma", also known as "For Mama" in English, is a song written in 1962 by French lyricist Robert Gall and Armenian- French artist Charles Aznavour. History Charles Aznavour first recorded "La mamma" for a 1962 EP with his version serving as title cut for his 1963 album release. The first single release was by Les Compagnons de la chanson which reached #80 on the French charts in late 1963: the Aznavour version was then issued as a single to reach #1 in France in February 1964. The song was written in English as a theme tune for the British TV series ''Seven Faces of Woman''.
