Ayako Uehara (golfer)
is a Japanese professional golfer. Uehara started playing golf at age 12, turned professional in 2003, and made her way onto the LPGA Tour on her first attempt. Together with Ai Miyazato and Sakura Yokomine, she was a member of the Japanese team that won a silver medal at the 2002 Asian Games. In 2016, Uehara made two holes-in-one during the Canadian Pacific Women's Open, tying the LPGA record for most holes-in-one in a single tournament. In November the same year, she set another record when she posted a score of 141 during round one of the Ito En Ladies Golf Tournament on the LPGA of Japan Tour. Uehara mistakenly applied the local rule of "lift, clean, and place" (common on the LPGA) when it should have been "lift, clean, and replace", earning her 68 penalties, two for each of the 19 violations and one for each of the 15 holes with an incorrect score on her scorecard. 2018 International Crown
The 2018 International Crown was a women's golf team event organized by the LPGA, played 4–7 Oct at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon, South Korea. This was the third International Crown, a biennial match play event contested between teams of four players representing eight countries. Due to the anticipated arrival of Typhoon Kong-rey, the tournament schedule was adjusted; the second round tee times were moved earlier on Friday and the third round, originally scheduled for Saturday, was started on Friday afternoon. The final round was to be played Saturday, 6 October, instead of Sunday. The Hanwha LifePlus International Crown is a :wikt:biennial, biennial women's professional team golf tournament on the LPGA Tour. Eight national teams of four players each (32 players in total) participate in the match play event. The 2007 Lexus Cup was a golf event competed by women representing Asia and an International squad representing the rest of the world. Each team was made up of twelve members. The competition took place at The Vines Resort & Country Club in Perth, Australia from 7–9 December 2007. Lexus was the title sponsor; Rolex, DBS, Singapore Airlines and Singapore Sports Council were main sponsors. The Lexus Cup was an annual golf tournament played between 2005 and 2008 for professional women golfers contested by a team representing Asia and an international team representing the rest of the world. It was sanctioned by the LPGA Tour,Lexus Cup 2008 but any winnings were unofficial and were not included in the LPGA money list standings. The title sponsor was Lexus, a luxury automobile maker. The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a women's major golf championships, major championship in Professional golf tours#Women's tours, women's professional golf. The Evian Championship, currently known for sponsorship reasons as The Amundi Evian Championship, is a women's professional golf tournament in France, played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains. It was originally held in June, moved to July in 2003, and moved again to September in 2013. It returned to a July date in 2019. Founded in 1994 on the Ladies European Tour (LET) as the Evian Masters, it is one of two major championships on the LET. Not originally a major on the LPGA Tour, it became an LPGA co-sanctioned event in 2000, which included a significant increase in purse size. First held in 1955, it is one of five majors on the LPGA Tour. The Chevron Championship is a professional women's golf tournament. An event on the LPGA Tour, it is one of the tour's five major championships, and has traditionally been the first of the season since its elevation to major status in 1983. Founded in 1972 by singer and actress Dinah Shore and Colgate-Palmolive chairman David Foster, it was played at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California from its inception through 2022.
