Axel Lapp
Axel Lapp (born 1966 in Konstanz, West Germany) is a German curator, art historian and publisher, who is based in Memmingen. He is director of MEWO Kunsthalle as well as of Strigel- and Antoniter-Museum in Memmingen. From 2005 until 2013, he was publisher of The Green Box, an art book publisher in Berlin. Biography Axel Lapp studied museology and art history in Marburg, Essex and Manchester. He was Henry Moore Research Fellow at the University of Leeds (1998–2000) and Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Sunderland (2009–2010). From 2002 until 2012, he worked as an art critic for Art Review and Art Monthly, and as a freelance curator for contemporary art. For the art publisher The Green Box, which he directed from 2005 until 2013, he edited numerous books on contemporary art and curating. Since 2012, Lapp is Director of MEWO Kunsthalle in Memmingen. Curator
A curator (from la, cura, meaning "to take care") is a manager or overseer. When working with cultural organizations, a curator is typically a "collections curator" or an "exhibitions curator", and has multifaceted tasks dependent on the particular institution and its mission. In recent years the role of curator has evolved alongside the changing role of museums, and the term "curator" may designate the head of any given division. Alissandra Cummins
Alissandra Cummins (born 30 October 1958) is a Barbadian art historian, educator, and scholar; she is a leading expert on Caribbean heritage, museum development, and art. Cummins is Director of the Barbados Museum & Historical Society and she is a lecturer in Museum and Heritage Studies at the University of the West Indies. She is board chair of International Journal of Intangible Heritage. She is on the board of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, and the International Journal of Museum Management and Curatorship. She was the Chairperson of the UNESCO Executive Board, from 2011 to 2013. Aelia Verina (Greek: Βερίνα, died 484) was the Empress consort of Leo I of the Eastern Roman Empire. She was a sister of Basiliscus. Beryl Graham
Beryl ( ) is a mineral composed of beryllium aluminium silicate with the chemical formula Be3Al2Si6O18. Well-known varieties of beryl include emerald and aquamarine. Naturally occurring, hexagonal crystals of beryl can be up to several meters in size, but terminated crystals are relatively rare. Pure beryl is colorless, but it is frequently tinted by impurities; possible colors are green, blue, yellow, pink, and red (the rarest). It is an ore source of beryllium. Sarah Cook (curator)
Sarah Cook is a Scotland-based Canadian scholar. She is well known as a historian and curator in the field of New Media art. Cook was a Research Fellow at the University of Sunderland, where she worked with the research institute CRUMB – Curatorial Resource for Upstart Media Bliss, that she co-founded with Beryl Graham in 2000, and taught on the MA Curating course. In 2013 she was appointed as a Reader and Dundee Research Fellow at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, University of Dundee. Ming Wong () is a Singaporean contemporary artist who lives and works in Berlin, known for his re-interpretations of iconic films and performances from world cinema in his video installations, often featuring "miscastings" of himself in roles of varied identities. In 2009, at the Singapore Pavilion of the 53rd Venice Biennale, Wong represented Singapore with the body of work, ''Life of Imitation'', for which he was awarded the Special Mention (Expanding Worlds) during the Biennale's Opening Ceremony, the first time a Singaporean artist would receive an award at the Venice Biennale. Omer Fast (born in Jerusalem 1972) is an Israeli video artist. Early life and education Born and raised in Israel, Fast spent much of his teenage years in Jericho, New York while his father pursued a medical degree in both countries. He received his BFA from a dual-degree program at Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1995, majoring in English and painting, and an MFA from Hunter College in 2000.
