AxeWound
AxeWound is a British-Canadian heavy metal supergroup formed in 2012 comprising Liam Cormier of Cancer Bats on lead vocals, Matthew Tuck of Bullet for My Valentine on guitar and backing vocals, Mike Kingswood of Glamour of the Kill on guitar, Joe Copcutt of Zoax and formerly of Rise to Remain playing bass and Jason Bowld of Pitchshifter and Bullet for My Valentine on drums. The band was officially unveiled on 1 May 2012 on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show with their lead single, "Post Apocalyptic Party", premiered the same night, and made available for free download. The same day, they were confirmed to sub-headline the Pepsi Max Third Stage at Download Festival 2012, on 8 June, underneath the Devin Townsend Project. Tuck announced that Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates will guest on the title track of the debut album. It was confirmed in ''Kerrang! Vultures (AxeWound Album)
''Vultures'' is the debut album by the British-Canadian supergroup AxeWound, released on 2 October 2012. The first song, "Post Apocalyptic Party", was released on 1 May 2012, when group founder Matt Tuck unveiled the group, which along with the Bullet for My Valentine frontman features Cancer Bats vocalist Liam Cormier, former Glamour of the Kill guitarist Mike Kingswood, ex-Rise to Remain bassist Joe Copcutt and Pitchshifter drummer Jason Bowld. The second song from the album, "Cold", premiered on 29 May. Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates guested on the title track, contributing a guitar solo. The album was produced by Matt Tuck and mixed and mastered by Machine. Matthew Tuck (born 20 January 1980) is a Welsh musician, best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the metal band Bullet for My Valentine. He is also a singer and guitarist in the Supergroup (music), supergroup AxeWound, which was formed in 2012. Career Bullet for My Valentine formed in 1998 under the name Jeff Killed John and were originally a nu metal band. After bassist Nick Crandle left in 2003, they picked up Jason James as their new bassist and renamed the band Bullet for My Valentine. Liam Cormier (born February 9, 1980) is a Canadian musician from Toronto, Ontario. He is the lead singer for Canadian hardcore punk band Cancer Bats. He is also the lead singer for the supergroup AxeWound. He is a vegetarian and lives a straight edge lifestyle. He also runs his own clothing brand called Treadwell Clothing. Joe Copcutt
Joe Copcutt (born 2 August 1988 from London, England) is an English metal bassist. He is a founding member of Zoax and bassist of AxeWound. Early life and career Copcutt was born in Islington, London, England. Copcutt's musical career began when he joined 12 Ton Method in 2006 around the time of leaving the band in 2008 he joined Rise to Remain replacing Theo Tan. Copcutt left Rise to Remain in 2012 along with Pat Lundy. In that same year he joined AxeWound. In 2013 Copcutt formed a new London based band named Zoax with Adam Carroll, Dan Prasad, Doug Wotherspoon & Jon Rogers. In 2018 he joined Carroll in the newly formed The Gore Club. Jason Bowld
Jason Bowld is a British drummer currently playing with the metal band Bullet for My Valentine, and formerly of Pitchshifter, This Is Menace and AxeWound. Bowld's first show with Bullet for My Valentine was at Wembley Arena in 2010, their original drummer Michael Thomas wasn't able to play. Jason said Matt Tuck rang him and gave him the setlist with no rehearsals, he had two days to learn the set. In 2021, Jim Davies of Pitchshifter, Jamie Mathias of Bullet For My Valentine, Tut Tut Child and Jason, formed Shadow Addict, an electro metal band. They Fell from the Sky In 2008 Bowld formed They Fell from the Sky with Colin Doran of Hundred Reasons and recorded a series of demos before disbanding. Rise To Remain
Rise to Remain was an English, London-based heavy metal band formed in 2006 and disbanded in 2015. The band made appearances at Download Festival, Sonisphere Festival and extensively toured the UK and Europe. The band released three EPs, the majority of which were "viral" releases, via their MySpace. On 16 March 2011 they signed their first major recording contract with EMI records, which was accompanied by the launch of their website and a free single download entitled "The Serpent". Their debut album, '' City of Vultures'', was released on 5 September 2011, nearly a year after they had started work on recording the album. Brian Elwin Haner Jr. (born July 7, 1981), better known by his stage name Synyster Gates or simply Syn, is an American guitarist, best known for being the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. He ranks No. 9 on '' Guitar World''s best metal guitarists of all time. Gates was voted as Best Metal Guitarist in the World by ''Total Guitar'' in 2016 and once again in 2017. Pitchshifter are an English industrial rock band from Nottingham, formed in 1989. The band was started by lead guitarist and programmer Johnny A. Carter, and bassist and vocalist Mark Clayden. To date, they have released seven studio albums and six extended plays; with their most recent LP, ''Psychic Jailbreak'', having been released on 15 April 2022.
