Awesome New Republic
Awesome New Republic is a two-piece indie band from Miami, Florida consisting of Michael John Hancock and Brian Robertson. Their debut album, '' ANR So Far'', was released with critical acclaim from online magazines such as Stereogum, and received play on the BBC and KCRW. '' ANR So Far'' was featured on Pitchfork Media and received 7.9/10. History Awesome New Republic was founded by Michael John Hancock and Brian Robertson at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in 2004. The duo had previously performed together in a 5-piece band called Empirical Mile with other University of Miami music school students. In 2005, "MJ" and "B-Rob" combined two previously hand made studio albums ''Courageous'' and ''Witness Now the Birth of An Awesome New Republic'' to create their debut release " ANR So Far". Jillian Mayer (born June 24, 1984) is a visual performance artist and filmmaker. She was born in Miami and is based there today. Langerado Festival
Langerado Music Festival was an annual music festival, taking place in early spring in South Florida, first organized in 2003 by Ethan Schwartz. In 2008, the festival was held at the Seminole Big Cypress Indian Reservation in the Everglades. The festival featured primarily music of the jamband genre, but also offered a wide selection of other musical styles and traditionally offered a stage for local bands, as well. The Benevento/Russo Duo (or The Duo for short) is an alternative jazz/Rock music, rock band from New York City, featuring Marco Benevento on keyboard instruments and Joe Russo (musician), Joe Russo on drum kit, drums. History Benevento and Russo met while in junior high school in New Jersey. The Duo began in 2001 when Russo secured a weekly gig at New York's Knitting Factory music club, and asked Benevento to join him on the Hammond B3 organ. Michael Eliot Gordon (born June 3, 1965) is an American bass guitarist and vocalist most recognized as a founding member of the band Phish. In addition to bass, Gordon is an accomplished banjo player, and is proficient at piano and guitar. He is also a filmmaker (''Rising Low'', ''Outside Out'') and author (''Mike's Corner''). Animal Collective is an American experimental pop band formed in Baltimore, Maryland.
