Awarapan
''Awarapan'' () is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language neo-noir action film directed by Mohit Suri and written by Shagufta Rafique, from a story by and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. It stars Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana. In the film, gangster Shivam Pandit (Hashmi) is ordered by his boss Bharat Malik (Rana) to watch over Reema (Sharma), Malik's secret Pakistani mistress. An uncredited remake of the South Korean film ''A Bittersweet Life'', ''Awarapan'' draws from neo-noir and action thriller tropes. ''Awarapan'' was theatrically released in India and worldwide on 29 June 2007. The film was a commercial failure, but eventually came to be regarded as one of Hashmi's best works. Emraan Hashmi
Emraan Anwar Hashmi (; born 24 March 1979) is an Indian actor who appears predominantly in Hindi cinema. Shriya Saran
Shriya Saran Bhatnagar (; born 11 September 1982) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi-language films. A Bittersweet Life
''A Bittersweet Life'' (; lit. "The Sweet Life") is a 2005 South Korean neo-noir action drama film written and directed by Kim Jee-woon. It stars Lee Byung-hun as Sun-woo, a hitman who becomes targeted by his boss after he spares the latter's cheating mistress. The film was released theatrically in South Korea on 1 April 2005. It opened on 265 screens throughout the country, and registered a total of 1,112,950 admissions by the end of its run. It was also screened out of competition at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. Shagufta Rafique is an Indian film screen-writer and film director. Biography Shagufta was an adopted child. Her parents are unknown. Her foster mother was in a relationship with a Kolkata based businessman, who left his second family unsupported after his death. His sudden death brought the family into poverty and Shagufta had to start supporting family at a young age of 11 by dancing at private parties. Her mother also trained her as a classical dancer.
