''Waaris'' () is a 1988 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Raveendra Peepat. It stars Smita Patil, Raj Babbar, Amrita Singh, Raj Kiran in lead roles. The film was adapted from the Punjabi novel ''Kaara — Hatthi'' by Sohan Singh Hans (as credited in the film). Audience had a mainstream story with some Masala quality entertainment. ''Baaghi: A Rebel for Love'' is a 1990 Indian Hindi-language romantic action drama film, starring Salman Khan, Nagma, Kiran Kumar and Shakti Kapoor, which was released on 21 December 1990.The movie was a blockbuster and was the seventh highest grossing film of 1990. It was Nagma's first role in Bollywood; as the opening credits note, she was 15 years old when the film was released. Aashiqui () is a 1990 Indian Hindi musical romantic drama film and first installment of Aashiqui series directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starring Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal and Deepak Tijori in pivotal roles. The film was known for its music, by composer duo Nadeem–Shravan (Nadeem Akhtar Saifi and Shravan Kumar Rathod) establishing their careers along with that of singer Kumar Sanu and music label T-Series. ''Main Azaad Hoon'' () is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language vigilante film adapted from the 1941 Frank Capra film, ''Meet John Doe'', by Javed Akhtar, about an opportunistic journalist who concocts a fictitious man in a fictitious article to boost newspaper sales, but when the article gets a huge response, she finds an unemployed man to sit in as Azaad, "man of the masses". The film was directed by Tinnu Anand, and starred Amitabh Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The film was a box-office bomb and is the lowest grossing Bachchan film of the 1980s, even lower than the then lowest '' Jaadugar'' released in the same year.
