''Marvel's The Avengers'' (classified under the name ''Marvel Avengers Assemble'' in the United Kingdom and Ireland), or simply ''The Avengers'', is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sixth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Seamus McGarvey, ASC, BSC (born 29 June 1967) is a cinematographer from Armagh, Northern Ireland. He lives in Tuscany, Italy. He has received two Academy Award nominations for his cinematography, on Joe Wright's 2007 drama ''Atonement'' and his 2012 adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's novel ''Anna Karenina''.
