Avenged (2013 South African Film)
''Avenged'' (originally titled ''iNumber Number'') is a 2013 South African action film written and directed by Donovan Marsh. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Plot Chili Ngcobo, an undercover cop, blows his cover and is captured by a gang. Chili frees himself and radios his partner for help, not realizing that Shoes' pistol has been sent in for repair. Shoes insists they call for backup, but Chili refuses, as he does not want to share the large reward for the gang's leader. With Shoes' tactical guidance, Chili takes down the entire gang despite having only two bullets. When they bring in the gang leader, Captain Stone withholds the reward unless they will set free a suspected rapist who is politically connected. Presley Chweneyagae (born October 19, 1984 in the North West Province Mafikeng, South Africa) is a South African actor of Tswana origin. He starred in the film ''Tsotsi'', which won the Academy Award for Foreign Language Film at the 78th Academy Awards. His mother, Agnes Keagile named him after her favourite singer, Elvis Presley. Showmax is an online subscription video on demand (SVOD) service which launched in South Africa on 19 August 2015. Showmax uses a localisation strategy to take on established video on demand competitors with a focus on local content and partnerships with mobile telcos. In South Africa Showmax has managed to out compete eight domestic competitors. It continues to compete with international video steaming services Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. Mzansi Magic is a South African digital satellite and general entertainment channel created by Multichoice and run by M-Net's local interest division, and is broadcast on DStv. History The channel launched in mid-July 2010 on channel 107 as M-Net's platform to boost local production and showcase entertainment in South Africa.
