Australind (train Service)
The ''Australind'' is a rural passenger train service in Western Australia operated by Transwa on the South Western Railway between Perth and Bunbury. History The ''Australind'' service began on 24 November 1947 and was hauled initially by U class steam locomotives. With an average speed of , it was the fastest narrow gauge passenger train in Australia. It was named to commemorate the city of that name envisioned by Marshall Waller Clifton on Leschenault Inlet 100 years previously. The current hamlet of Australind, a satellite town of Bunbury, has never had a passenger rail service, nor even a railway line. In February 1958, X class diesel locomotives took over. The service was relaunched on 1 October 1960 with onboard catering removing the need for an elongated stop at Pinjarra. Bunbury Railway Station bus routes 826 and 827 connect Bunbury Terminal with the Bunbury Terminal (also known as Bunbury Passenger Terminal) is a train and bus station for Transwa services. The terminal is located in East Bunbury, Western Australia. It is the terminus station for the ''Australind'' train service to/from Perth along the South Western line. It was built as a replacement for the more centrally located station, being opened on 29 May 1985 by Minister for Transport Julian Grill. Bunbury, Western Australia
Bunbury is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia, approximately south of the state capital, Perth. It is the state's third most populous city after Perth and Mandurah, with a population of approximately 75,000. Located at the south of the Leschenault Estuary, Bunbury was established in 1836 on the orders of Governor James Stirling, and named in honour of its founder, Lieutenant (at the time) Henry Bunbury. Armadale And Thornlie Railway Lines
The Armadale line is a suburban rail service in Western Australia that runs from Perth to Armadale on the South Western Railway. This service is planned to extend to the suburb of Byford over an new railway line constructed as part of the Byford Rail Extension project. The Thornlie line is a service that runs on the South Western Railway from Perth to a junction between Beckenham and Kenwick and continues on a short branch line to Thornlie that opened on 7 August 2005. This service is currently, , being extended to Cockburn Central (which until now was serviced by the Mandurah line only) as part of the Thornlie-Cockburn Link project that in part is constructing of new railway line between Thornlie and Cockburn Central next to the Kewdale White Oil Line. Transperth C-series Train
The Transperth C-series trains are a planned class of electric multiple units part of Alstom's X'Trapolis family of trains for Transperth that are being delivered as part of Metronet. The new trains will feature hard-worn flooring instead of the carpet-laid floor of the A and B series, making it easy to clean flooring. Bellevue is an eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the local government areas of the City of Swan and the Shire of Mundaring. It is at the foot of the slopes of Greenmount, a landmark on the Darling Scarp that is noted in the earliest of travel journals of the early Swan River Colony. Community Bellevue has been bisected by the Roe Highway, railway, and substantial changes in the eastern parts of Midland.
