Australian Cricket Team Against Afghanistan In The UAE In 2012
The Afghanistan national cricket team played the Australian national cricket team in a single One Day International (ODI) in the United Arab Emirates during Australia's concurrent series against Pakistan in UAE in August 2012. The match took place on 25 August, and was held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The match was notable for being the first time a One Day International would be played over two days and with both innings starting at night. The match started at 18:00 GST and was scheduled to finish at around 1:45 during the morning of the 26th. It was also Afghanistan's second ODI against a full member of the International Cricket Council, following their one off ODI earlier in the year against Pakistan, and their first meeting in any format against Australia. Nawroz Mangal
Nawroz Mangal (born Nawroz Khan Mangal) (نوروز خان منګل ; born 28 November 1984) is a former Afghanistan cricketer. Mangal is former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team and also famous for leading Afghanistan to prestigious ODI status. In January 2017 he retired from international cricket and became the national chief selector for Afghanistan. Izatullah Dawlatzai (born 10 May 1991) is an Afghan-German cricketer who has played international cricket for both Afghanistan and Germany. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. Under-19 career Dawlatzai started representing Afghanistan in age group cricket, which culminated in the Afghanistan Under-19 cricket team qualifying for the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, for the first time in their history. Xavier John Doherty (born 22 November 1982) is a former Australian international cricketer who played Australian domestic cricket with Tasmania and internationally for Australia.
