Stewart McSweyn
Stewart McSweyn (born 1 June 1995) is an Australian long-distance runner. He competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and managed to qualify for the Men's 1500m final. He came third in his heat with a time of 3:36.39 and qualified for the semifinals. Here he came fifth with a time of 3:32.54. This time was good enough for him to qualify for the final. His time of 3:31.91 earned him seventh place. McSweyn also represented his country in the 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2017 World Championships. In April 2018, he represented Australia at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia. He came 5th in the 5000m final and 11th in the 10,000m final. Ian Halpin
Ian Haplin (also spelled Ian Halpin; born 20 April 1993) is an Australian 400m sprinter. Haplin is a member of Blue Mountains Athletics Club. He claimed a gold medal at the 2019 Australian Athletics Championships, as part of the men’s New South Wales 4x400 metre relay and has been recently selected to represent Australia in the 2019 IAAF World Relays Championships in Yokohama, Japan. Where he raced as part of the mixed 4x400m relay team, that placed 4th in their heats with a time of 3:03.53. Haplin earned selection for the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha. Murray Goodwin (athlete)
Murray Goodwin (born 16 January 1987) is an Australian athlete. Personal life Goodwin was born on the Gold Coast in Queensland. His father was a national level 800m runner. Goodwin completed a teaching degree at university and became a physical education teacher at Varsity College. Soccer career Goodwin began playing soccer at the local level for Burleigh Heads in 2005 and regularly switched clubs, including stints with and Merrimac, Mudgeeraba and Surfers Paradise. At his highest level, Goodwin played semi-professional soccer in 2010 for the Gold Coast Stars in the Queensland State League, one step below the professional A-League. Alexander (Alex) Beck (born 7 February 1992) is an Australian Olympic athlete. He is a three time defending National champion. Beck was selected to represent Australia in the men's 400 metres at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo. He ran a personal best of 45.54 to finish sixth in his heat. At the 2022 Oceania Athletics Championships Beck won the gold medal in the 400 metres race. 2019 World Athletics Championships – Men's 3000 Metres Steeplechase
The men's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha from 1 to 4 October 2019. Summary Kenya considers the steeplechase to be their national sport. With defending champion Conseslus Kipruto, they qualified four to the final. the USA, with two Kenyan ex-pats and Ethiopia, also qualified all three of their entrants. This was only the second major championship since 2007 without perennial medalist Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad. Kipruto almost didn't make it. Ben Buckingham
Ben Buckingham (born 8 November 1991) is an Australian track and field athlete who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Early years Buckingham grew up on a 600-acre cattle farm and started serious running at the age of 10 with his mother. When he was 18 years of age he left his hometown of Myrtleford, Victoria to go to the University of Melbourne. Buckingham continued his running and came third in the 2010 National U20 steeplechase. Buckingham made his international debut at the 2010 World Mountain Running Championships in Slovenia, competing in the junior race. Nicholas Hough
Nicholas Hough (born 20 October 1993) is an Australian sprinter and hurdler. Early years In 2011, Hough graduated from The King's School, Parramatta where he was the School Captain. In his HSC, he came equal fifth in the state in Software Development. Hough was an all-rounder, competing in sprints, hurdles, jumps and the shot put. Hough made his international debut aged 16 at the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games. Two years later he competed at the IAAF World Junior Championships winning silver in the 110m hurdles. 2019 World Athletics Championships – Men's Marathon
The men's marathon was one of the road events at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar. Due to the heat in Doha, the race was scheduled to begin at 23:59 on 5 October 2019. Even with the unusual timing, high temperatures were expected to provide difficult conditions for running, but in the end temperatures dropped to around and 50% humidity. The race was won by Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia in , followed four seconds behind by his compatriot Mosinet Geremew. Amos Kipruto of Kenya was third in 2:10:51. The marathon was held on Doha Corniche, and consisted of six laps of a roughly floodlit course. Patrick Tiernan (born 11 September 1994) is an Australian long-distance runner. While competing for Vilanova University, he won the 2016 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. He has represented Australia in several global competitions, including the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. He held the Australian record in the 10000 m from 2020 to 2022.
