Austin O'Malley
Austin O'Malley is a Gaelic footballer who plays for St Patrick's and the Wicklow county team. O'Malley won the Dublin Senior Football Championship with UCD in 2006. The Louisburgh native was involved in a transfer process which brought him to Dublin club St Vincent's. The story was leaked to Dublin newspaper, the ''Metro''. Austin works as a teacher in St Benildus College, where he uses the strength and ambition that he gained from years on the training pitch to discipline and motivate the pupils. In 2011 he joined Wicklow town club St Patrick's and the Wicklow county team. In 2014 he transferred back to his native club Louisburgh in Co Mayo. Mayo Junior Football Championship
The Mayo Junior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by lower-tier Mayo GAA clubs. Islandeady are the title holders (2022) defeating Cill Chomáin in the Final. Honours The trophy presented to the winners is the McDonnell Cup. The winners of the Mayo Junior Championship qualify to represent their county in the Connacht Junior Club Football Championship. They often do well there, with the likes of Kilmeena (January 2022, following 2021 Mayo JFC win), Kilmaine (2019), Louisburgh (2016) and Ardnaree Sarsfields (2015) among the clubs from Mayo to win at least one Connacht Championship after winning the Mayo Junior Football Championship. Louisburgh () is a small town on the southwest corner of Clew Bay in County Mayo, Ireland. It is home to Sancta Maria College and the Gráinne O'Malley Interpretive Centre. Transport Road access Louisburgh is located on the R335 regional road. It can be approached from Westport (13 miles) or from Leenane (19 miles). The former approach passes along Clew Bay on one side and Croagh Patrick on the other, while the latter passes through lake and mountain scenery past Doo Lough and Delphi Lodge.
