Attractiepark Slagharen
Attractie- & Vakantiepark Slagharen is an Amusement park and holiday resort in Slagharen, located in the Dutch province Overijssel. The park opened in 1963 and was originally named ''Ponypark Slagharen''. The logo contains the English name ''Slagharen Themepark & Resort''. The Amusement park contains two areas, which are connected by a main street containing shops and restaurants. The park has more than 30 attractions, including 2 Roller coasters. The park contains 6 themed areas: Indian, Yellowstone, New Orleans, Mexican, Wild West and Jules Adventureland (named after the French writer Jules Verne). The entrance and Apollo, Enterprise and Free Fall rides are all found at the southern end of the park. Slagharen
Slagharen is a village in the municipality of Hardenberg in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. The village started as a peat excavation village. It is known for the Attractiepark Slagharen, an amusement park. History In 1832, the Lutterhoofdwijk canal was dug as a side canal of the to excavate the peat in the area and the village was established along the canal, however, in 1830, a community of 81 people was recorded at the site. All except for a Frisian family were from neighbouring Germany, and were living in sod houses on the moorland. In 1844, the name Slagharen first appeared, and means "parcel f landon sandy ground". The predominantly German settlers resulted in the founding of a Catholic church in 1843. The church was replaced in 1967. In 1859, the gristmill was built near the village. The Troika is an amusement park ride designed and manufactured by HUSS Park Attractions in the mid-1970s. The name Troika means "group of three" in Russian, a reference to its three armed design. There are several variations on the design. Design HUSS Park Attractions designed and manufactured the first Troika ride in the mid-1970s. Hardenberg
Hardenberg (; nds-nl, Haddenbarreg or '' 'n Arnbarg'') is a city and municipality in the province of Overijssel, Eastern Netherlands. Arjen Henrik Lubach (; born 22 October 1979) is a Dutch comedian, author, music producer and television presenter. He hosted the weekly news satire television show ''Zondag met Lubach''. Gold Rush (Slagharen)
Gold Rush is a steel launched roller coaster at Attractiepark Slagharen in Slagharen, Overijssel, of the Netherlands. The coaster is manufactured by Gerstlauer and replaced the aging Thunder Loop attraction, which now operates in Cyprus. Gold Rush is heavily themed to the 1849 California Gold Rush, and features the first (and currently only) triple launch system on a Dutch roller coaster. History On June 10, 2016, Attractiepark Slagharen announced that they would retire Thunder Loop, their classic Schwarzkopf ''Looping Star'' coaster, which had been in operation since 1979. Ripsaw Falls
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls is a log flume ride at Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida, inspired by the Dudley Do-Right character created by cartoonists Jay Ward and Alex Anderson. Opened on May 28, 1999, it is one of the park's original attractions.
