Athletics events at the 2012 Summer Paralympics were held in the Olympic Stadium and in The Mall in London, United Kingdom, from 31 August to 9 September 2012. Classification Athletes were given a classification depending on the type and extent of their disability. The classification system allowed athletes to compete against others with a similar level of function. The athletics classifications are: *11–13: Blind (11) and visually impaired (12, 13) athletes *20: Athletes with an intellectual disability *31–38: Athletes with cerebral palsy *40: Les Autres (others) (including people with dwarfism) *42–46: Amputees *51–58: Athletes with a spinal cord disability The class numbers were given prefixes of "T", "F" and "P" for track, field and pentathlon events, respectively. Christine Akullo
Christine Akullo (born 23 June 1990) is a Ugandan Paralympic athlete competing in the T13 Category. Akullo won Gold for Uganda in the T13 100m at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique as well as the 2015 All Africa Games. She was also Uganda's flag bearer at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. Background and education Akullo was in Aboke, Soroti District, Uganda to Joseph Ayom and Jennet Rose Agiro. After contracting malaria in 1998, she became partially blind. Between 1996 and 2004, she received her early education at Namatala Primary School in Mbale District. She later joined St Francis Madera School for the Blind in Soroti in 2006 and completed her A-Level in 2011. Locally she is sponsored by Child Fund International and it was reported that she would be joining Makerere University in September 2012 to pursue a bachelor's degree in Sports Science. Sanae Benhama
SANAE is the South African National Antarctic Expedition. The name refers both to the overwintering bases (numbered in Roman numerals, e.g. SANAE IV), and the team spending the winter (numbered in Arabic numerals, e.g. SANAE 47). The current base, SANAE IV, is located at Vesleskarvet in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica.
