The women's 4 × 400 metres relay event at the 2008 Olympic Games took place on 22 and 23 August at the Beijing Olympic Stadium. There were only 16 NOCs competing at this event. These 16 NOCs were selected by the average of the two best marks at the qualifying period. The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 28 sports and 302 events, one event more than those scheduled for the 2004 Summer Olympics. Ilona Usovich ( be, Ілона Усовіч; born 14 November 1982) is a Belarusian sprinter. Together with Natallia Solohub, Anna Kozak and Svetlana Usovich (her sister) she won a silver medal in 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2004 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Olha Bryzhina ( uk, Ольга Бризгіна, maiden name Olga Arkad'evna Vladykina; russian: Ольга Аркадьевна Владыкина; born June 30, 1963 in Krasnokamsk, Perm Oblast) is a retired athlete who represented Soviet Union (until 1991) and later Ukraine.
