Asuka Strikes!
is the eighth episode of the Japanese anime television series ''Neon Genesis Evangelion'', which was created by Gainax. The episode, written by Hideaki Anno and Yoji Enokido and directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, was first broadcast on TV Tokyo on November 22, 1995. The series is set fifteen years after a worldwide cataclysm and is mostly set in the futuristic, fortified city Tokyo-3. The series' protagonist is Shinji Ikari, a teenage boy who is recruited by his father Gendo to the organization Nerv to pilot a gigantic, bio-mechanical mecha named Evangelion into combat with beings called Angels. During the episode, Asuka Langley Soryu, a girl who is designated as the pilot of Evangelion Unit-02, is introduced; after the attack of Gaghiel, the sixth Angel, Asuka cooperates with Shinji aboard the Eva-02 to defeat the enemy. The Secret Of Blue Water
is a Japanese anime television series inspired by the works of Jules Verne, particularly '' Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea'' and the exploits of Captain Nemo. The series was created by NHK, Toho and Korad, from a concept of Hayao Miyazaki, and directed by Hideaki Anno of Gainax. The series follows a young inventor named Jean and a former circus performer named Nadia, who wishes to return to her home in Africa, but soon discovers a secret hidden within her pendant that leads her off to adventure. Mahiro Maeda (前田 真宏 ''Maeda Mahiro''; born March 14, 1963) is a Japanese anime director, character designer, and animator. Helen McCarthy in ''500 Essential Anime Movies'' called him "one of the most imaginative visualists in anime". Yoh Yoshinari
is a Japanese key animator, storyboard artist, and anime director. Biography Yoshinari was born in Tokyo on May 6, 1971. He graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin College. Career Yoshinari entered the anime industry through the influence of his older brother, Kou Yoshinari. Several of his early works were uncredited second key animation and in-betweens for his brother during high school. After leaving professional school, he applied to Gainax and Madhouse. Not receiving a response from Gainax, he joined Madhouse. Due to a misunderstanding, Gainax failed to process his application until three months later. Not wanting to explain, Yoshinari told Madhouse "being an animator is too hard for me", and switched to Gainax. Hidenori Matsubara
is a Japanese anime character designer and director. Biography In 1988, Matsubara joined Gainax. In 1996, after finishing the ''Neon Genesis Evangelion'' series, he left Gainax and worked as a freelancer for various TV series and OVAs. He was the character designer and animation director on the 1995 OVA series ''Oh My Goddess!'' which had five episodes, and then its feature film '' Oh My Goddess! The Movie'' in 2000. Takeshi Honda (animator)
is a Japanese animator, designer, and animation director. Honda dropped out of Tokyo Design Academy and joined the original Gainax team. At Gainax, Honda debuted in drawing supervision at age 22.
