High-definition television (HD or HDTV) describes a television system which provides a substantially higher image resolution than the previous generation of technologies. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence. MYTV Broadcasting or MYTV is a Malaysian television broadcasting company providing free digital terrestrial television (DTT) in the country, considered a first of its kind in the country. Young Imam
Young Imam (Malay: ''Imam Muda'') was a Malaysian television series that commenced broadcasting in 2010. The show featured young men competing for a post as the imam of a mosque and a scholarship to study at the Islamic University of Madinah. Competition 10 men entered the show as contestants, aged between 19 and 27. Over 1,000 people auditioned to enter the show. Each week of the show, the contestants were tested by undertaking ritual tasks (such as delivering sermons) and on their religious knowledge. The head judge was former imam of Malaysia's National Mosque, Hasan Mahmood. The prize for the competition's winner included a scholarship to study at Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia, a pilgrimage to Mecca, a posting as imam of a mosque, 20,000 Malaysian ringgit and a new car. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. NJOI
NJOI is a Malaysian free-to-view satellite television service launched on 18 February 2012 in collaboration with the government of Malaysia and Astro. It was officially announced by former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak on 20 December 2011. At launch, the service provided 18 television channels and 19 radio stations. However, existing Astro customers may purchase this service through separate account. At launch, the set-up which consist of a set-top box, Out-Door Unit (ODU) satellite dish, smartcard and remote control unit, was available at a one-time payment of RM 305 at all Astro authorised retailers, with a standard installation fee of RM 100 from an Astro-authorised installer as stated on the website. In mid-2013, the one-time payment was reduced to RM 280, and installation remains at RM 100.
