Northern Education Trust is a multi-academy trust operating in the North of England. It was established in 2010 and operates 22 academies; 10 primary and 12 secondary. Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) or school trust is an academy trust that operates more than one academy school. Academy schools are state-funded schools in England which are directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) is a multi-academy trust (MAT) that operates forty schools (twenty-eight secondary and twelve primary) across northern England and the East Midlands. The school was founded in 1990 as Dixons City Technology College which focused on a specialism of design and technology and product design. Thorp Academy is a large 11–18 secondary Academy (English school), Academy in Ryton, Tyne and Wear, Ryton Tyne & Wear, England.
