Associação Desportiva Bahia de Feira, commonly referred to as Bahia de Feira, is a Brazilian football club based in Feira de Santana, Bahia. The club plays in Série D, the fourth tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Baiano, the top level of the Bahia state football league. History The club was founded on July 2, 1937. Bahia de Feira won the Campeonato Baiano Second Level in 1982, 1986, and in 2009. They won the Campeonato Baiano in 2011, after beating Vitória in the final. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. The Campeonato Baiano is the football league of the state of Bahia, Brazil. The championship has been played since 1905 without interruption. 2020 format First stage: 10 teams are included in one group, playing once only against all teams in the group. The four best teams qualify to the semifinals, while the last-placed team is relegated to the Second Level. Final stage The four best teams play in a two-legged knockout tie, with the first facing the fourth and the second facing the third placed. The winner of each Semifinal qualify for the Finals, which occur in the same way. The winners of the finals are the champions. In case that two teams end tied after a round, those with the best record in the first stage qualify. The Brazilian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for football clubs in Brazil. It consists of several independent pyramids, which are the national pyramid and the states pyramids. As these pyramids are independent, clubs usually compete in a state pyramid and a national pyramid. Both the national pyramid and the states pyramids consist of several levels. The best placed teams in the states championships as well as the best clubs ranked in by the CBF compete in the Copa do Brasil. The Campeonato Baiano Second Division are the second tier level of the football tournaments for the Bahia state league. The competitions are organized by the Bahia Football Federation. Usually, the champions of a division are promoted in the next year to the immediately upper level. 2011 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
In 2011, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth division of the Brazilian League, will be contested for the third time in history, during 18 July and 13 November. It will be contested by 40 clubs, four of which will eventually qualify to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C to be contested in 2012. Competition format The 40 teams are divided in eight groups of 5, playing within them in a double round-robin format. The two best ranked in each group at the end of 10 rounds will qualify to the Second Stage, which will be played in home-and-away system. Winners advance to Third Stage. The quarterfinal winners will be promoted to the Série C 2012. As there is no Série E, or fifth division, technically there will be no relegation.
