Associated Film Distribution
Associated Film Distribution was a British film distribution company. It was set up in the 1970s by ITC Entertainment and EMI Films to distribute their films in the US. Michael Deeley, head of EMI at the time, opposed the move. He thought it was motivated by Sir Lew Grade's belief that his films had failed in the US due to poor distribution. The company was launched in 1978 with $40 million in capitalisation. It aimed to distribute 12 films a year. ITC Entertainment
The Incorporated Television Company (ITC), or ITC Entertainment as it was referred to in the United States, was a British company involved in production and distribution of television programmes. History Incorporated Television Programme Company Television mogul Lew Grade set up the Incorporated Television Programme Company (ITP) with Prince Littler and Val Parnell in 1954. Originally designed to be a contractor for the UK's new ITV network, the company failed to win a contract when the Independent Television Authority felt that doing so would give too much control in the entertainment business to the Grade family's companies (which included large talent agencies and theatre interests) although the ITA said that ITP were free to make their own programmes which they could sell to the new network companies. ''Cross Creek'' is a 1983 American biographical drama romance film starring Mary Steenburgen as ''The Yearling'' author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. ''Tender Mercies'' is a 1983 American drama (film and television), drama film directed by Bruce Beresford. The screenplay by Horton Foote focuses on Mac Sledge, a recovering alcoholism, alcoholic country music singer who seeks to turn his life around through his relationship with a young widow and her son in rural Texas.
