Asrarul Haq Qasmi
Mohammad Asrarul Haque (commonly known as Asrarul Haq Qasmi ; 15 February 1942 – 7 December 2018) was an Indian Muslim scholar and politician, who served as the eighth general secretary of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind. He was a member of the Indian Parliament, and represented Kishanganj seat. He was also the state president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. Biography Haq was born on 15 February 1942. He was an alumnus of the Darul Uloom Deoband. Haq won from the Kishanganj seat in the 2009 Indian general election by contesting on an Indian National Congress ticket. In the 2014 general election, he contested against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Dilip Jaiswal. He retained his seat in the election, polling the highest number of votes in the state. Haq helped found the center of the Aligarh Muslim University in Kishanganj. Kishanganj
Kishanganj is a city and district headquarters of Kishanganj district in Purnia division of Bihar state. History Kishanganj, which was previously part of Purnia district, is part of the Mithila region. Mithila first gained prominence after being settled by Indo-Aryan peoples who established the Mithila Kingdom (also called Kingdom of the Videhas). During the late Vedic period (c. 1100–500 BCE), the kingdom of the Videhas became one of the major political and cultural centres of South Asia, along with Kuru and Pañcāla. The rulers of Videhas were called Janakas. The Mithila Kingdom was later incorporated into the Vajjika League, which had its capital in the city of Vaishali, which is also in Mithila. Mohammed Taslimuddin
Mohammed Taslimuddin (4 January 1943 – 17 September 2017) was an Indian politician and a veteran RJD leader. He hailed from the village of Sisauna in the Araria district of Bihar. He started his political career as a sarpanch and was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly for the first time in 1969, serving as an MLA eight times. In 1989, he was first elected to the Lok Sabha from the Purnia constituency. He was thrice elected as an MP from the Kishanganj constituency in 1996, 1998 and 2004. He served his final stint as an MP in the 16th Lok Sabha after being elected from the Araria constituency. He died on 17 September 2017 at the age of 74 after being treated for respiratory problems in Chennai, he was laid to rest with state honours on 19 September 2017 at his birthplace located in Sisauna jokihat.
