Askøyfjellet or Kolbeinsvarden is a mountain in the municipality of Askøy in Vestland county, Norway. The tall mountain lies near the southeastern coast of the island of Askøy, just north of Kleppestø. De Syv Fjell
The Seven Mountains ( no, De syv fjell) are seven mountains that surround the centre of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Bergen is often called 'the city between the seven mountains'. Selection Playwright Ludvig Holberg (1684–1754) felt so inspired by the Seven hills of Rome, he decided that his home town must also be blessed with a corresponding seven mountains. Which mountains belong to the group is unclear, due to its origin (based on the mythical status of the number seven), and the fact that several of the mountains are part of the same mountain massif. Since there are many mountains surrounding Bergen, the definition of the "seven mountains" varies depending on who is defining it. Askøy (island)
Askøy is an island in Vestland county, Norway. The island is located entirely inside the municipality of Askøy, and the island makes up about 88% of the municipal area and is home to about 96% of the municipal residents. In 2014, there were 26,230 people living on the island. Since the opening of the Askøy Bridge leading to the mainland in the city of Bergen in 1992, the population has increased rapidly. The island is named after the old Ask farm along the eastern coast of the island. The village is the site of the old Ask Church. Vestland
Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. The administrative centre of the county is the city of Bergen, where the executive and political leadership is based, but the County Governor is based in Hermansverk. The island municipality is located in the Midhordland district of the county, sitting in a large group of islands immediately northwest of the city of Bergen.
