Asin Thottumkal
Asin Thottumkal (born 26 October 1985), known mononymously as Asin, is a former Indian actress who appeared predominantly in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu films. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She has received three Filmfare Awards. She began her acting career in the South Indian film industry, but later shifted her focus to Bollywood. She speaks eight languages. Making her acting debut at the age of 15 with Sathyan Anthikkad's Malayalam film ''Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka'' (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with the Telugu film ''Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi'' in 2003, and won a Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award for the film. '' M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi'' (2004) was her debut in Tamil and a huge success. She received her Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award for her most noted critically acclaimed performance in her third Tamil film, '' Ghajini'' (2005). Kochi
Kochi (), also known as Cochin ( ) ( the official name until 1996) is a major port city on the Malabar Coast of India bordering the Laccadive Sea, which is a part of the Arabian Sea. It is part of the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala and is commonly referred to as Ernakulam. Kochi is the most densely populated city in Kerala. Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka
''Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka'' () is a 2001 Indian Malayalam-language satirical film directed by Sathyan Anthikkad and written by Sreenivasan. The film stars Kunchacko Boban and Samyuktha Varma. The story follows Jayakanthan (Kunchacko Boban), who comes from Kumbakonam, to his late father's village in Paruthippara, Kannur district, to claim his father's property. The film marks the acting debut of Asin, however this remained her first and only Malayalam film to date. The film released on 24 August 2001 coinciding with the festival of Onam. Plot The story is about Jayakanthan, who comes to claim his father Narendran's property in their native village. There he meets Vinodini, who is the panchayat president and a strict follower of the rules. Swathi is Jayakanthan's cousin and her father Balakrishnan Nambiar is worried that Jayakanthan, his nephew, has come to marry her and inherit their property.
