Asian Men's Volleyball Cup
The Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, also known as the AVC Cup for Men, is an international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the top senior men's national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continent governing body. The tournaments have been awarded every two years since 2008. The current champion is China, which won its second title at the 2022 tournament. The 7 Asian Volleyball Cup tournaments have been won by four different national teams. Iran have won three times. The other Asian Cup winners are China, with two titles; and both South Korea and Qatar, with one title each. The 2022 Asian Cup was to take place in Taipei, Taiwan but because of its strict COVID-19 protocols, it was reallocated to Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. The 2008 Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, so-called 2008 AVC Cup for Men was the inaugural edition of the Asian Cup, played by top eight teams of the 2007 Asian Championship. The tournament was held at MCC Hall Convention Center, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from 20 to 26 September 2008. The Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup, also known as the AVC Challenge Cup for Men, is an international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continent governing body. This event should not be confused with the other, more prestigious continental competition for Asian national volleyball teams, the Asian Volleyball Championship and Asian Volleyball Cup. The three Asian Volleyball Challenge Cup tournaments has been won by three different national teams. Iraq, Kyrgyzstan and Thailand have won one time. History Originally, the tournament was awarded every two years beginning 2018. The champions were Iraq in 2018 edition and Kyrgyzstan in 2022 edition. The East Asian Zonal Volleyball Association, is the governing body for the sports of indoor, beach and grass volleyball in East Asia. In the spirit of the FIVB 2001 Plan, AVC was the first to create five Zonal Associations at the 10th General Assembly in December 1993 prior to the FIVB Centennial Congress in September 1994. 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Cup
The 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, so-called 2018 AVC Cup for Men was the sixth edition of the Asian Men's Volleyball Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association (CTVA). The tournament was held at University of Taipei Gymnasium, Taipei, Taiwan (referred to as Chinese Taipei by the AVC) from 8 to 15 August 2018. As hosts, Chinese Taipei automatically participated for the tournament, while the remaining 8 teams, qualified from the 2017 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship in Gresik, Indonesia.
