Ashton Skrlik
Ashton Skrlik (born May 9, 1999) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She currently plays lead on Team Kayla Skrlik. Career Skrlik played third for her sister Kayla Skrlik's rink when the team represented Alberta at the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships. There, the team finished with a 3–2 round robin record, just missing the playoffs. She represented Alberta at her first junior nationals at the 2018 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the championship, Skrlik and her team of skip Kayla Skrlik, second Hope Sunley and lead Megan Johnson finished with a 4–2 round robin record, enough to qualify for the championship round. They then went 3–1 against the other pool, however, this was not enough to qualify for the playoffs and they finished in fourth place with a 7–3 record. 2022 Best Of The West (curling)
The 2022 SGI Canada Best of the West was held from April 22 to 24 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The newly created event consisted of teams with all players thirty years and younger. It was played between the four provinces of Western Canada, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. All provinces were represented by two teams in each of the three disciplines, men's, women's and doubles. Format The Best of the West U30 Championship was played in a round-robin tournament with two pools of four in each of the three disciplines, men's, women's and doubles. The top two teams in each pool at the conclusion of the three game round robin advanced to the semifinal round, with the winners then moving on to the championship game. The 2022 Sentinel Storage Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Alberta, was held January 3 to 9 at the Bonnetts Energy Centre in Grande Prairie, Grande Prairie, Alberta. The winning Laura Walker (curler), Laura Walker team represented Alberta at the 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and finished with a 3–5 record. Daniela Jentsch
Daniela Jentsch (born 15 January 1982), previously known as Daniela Driendl, is a German curler from Füssen. She is the skip of the German National Women's Curling Team. Career Jentsch played in her first international competition in 1997 at the 1997 World Junior Curling Championships, as third for Natalie Nessler. There, the team finished in eighth place with a 2–7 record. She has skipped the German women's junior team to two "B" level gold medals in 2001 and 2002. At the "A" level, she finished tenth in 2001 and fifth in 2002, just missing the playoffs. When she was just 18, Jentsch participated in her first World Women's Curling Championship at the 2000 Ford World Women's Curling Championship in Glasgow, Scotland, playing third for Petra Tschetsch. Selena Sturmay (born June 21, 1998) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. She currently skips her own team out of the Saville Community Sports Centre. Career Sturmay made her first appearance at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2016, skipping her team of Dacey Brown, Megan Moffat and Hope Sunley out of Airdrie. She qualified for the national championship by making a runback double takeout to defeat Kayla Skrlik in the championship game. After a 4–2 round robin record, her team finished 6–4 in the championship pool, placing fifth. Sturmay and her brother Karsten represented Alberta at the 2018 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. There, the pair went 3–4 in the round robin, not enough to qualify for the playoff round.
