Ashley Sanchez
Ashley Nicole Sanchez (born March 16, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. She played collegiate soccer for the UCLA Bruins and broke several school records in the three years she played. In 2016, Sanchez was named U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year. In 2020, she was named the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup Future Legend. In 2021, she helped the Spirit win the NWSL Championship. Early life and education Born in Pasadena, California in the Los Angeles region to Julie and Ralph Sanchez, Ashley was raised in the nearby city of Monrovia. Monrovia High School
Monrovia High School is a public high school located in Monrovia, California, a northeastern suburb of Los Angeles, United States. Monrovia High School is the only grades 9–12 comprehensive high school in the Monrovia Unified School District. Established in 1893, the campus is located in an environment of neo-Spanish architecture, green lawns, hundred-year-old oak trees, and is nestled against the San Gabriel Mountains. The portion of the campus designed in 1928 is the work of noted Los Angeles architect John C. Austin. In 2006, the citizens of Monrovia approved a $45 million bond for the high school. 2022 National Women's Soccer League Season
The 2022 National Women's Soccer League season was the tenth season of the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Including the NWSL's two professional predecessors, Women's Professional Soccer (2009–2011) and the Women's United Soccer Association (2001–2003), it was the 16th overall season of FIFA and USSF-sanctioned top division women's soccer in the United States. The Chicago Red Stars are a professional women's soccer club based in Bridgeview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. A founding member of the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league, they have played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) since 2013. WPS was the NWSL's predecessor as the professional women's soccer league in the United States, and the Red Stars played in the WPS in 2009 and 2010. The National Women's Soccer League Playoffs (or NWSL Playoffs) are a single elimination tournament among six teams in the National Women's Soccer League of the United States, deciding the winner of the NWSL Championship. Since playoff games cannot end in ties, those are broken by two straight 15-minute extra time periods, followed by shootouts of best-of-five rounds plus extra rounds as required. The 2020 National Women's Soccer League season was the eighth season of the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. The Stanford Cardinal women's soccer team represent Stanford University in the Pac-12 Conference of NCAA Division I soccer. Home games are played at Laird Q.
