Ash Gardiner
Ashley John Gardiner (10 December 1946 – 18 January 2021) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A prop, Gardiner represented Taranaki at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, in 1974 on the tours of Australia and Ireland. He played 11 matches for the All Blacks including one international. Ashleigh Gardner
Ashleigh Katherine Gardner (born 15 April 1997) is an Australian cricketer who currently plays for the national women's team as an all-rounder. A right-handed batter and right-arm off spinner, Gardner also plays for New South Wales in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and for the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). She has won three world championships and four national titles with her respective teams, while also gaining numerous individual honours, including the Belinda Clark Award. Domestic career Following standout performances throughout the 2014–15 Imparja Cup, Gardner made her WNCL debut for New South Wales in the 2015–16 season, and joined the Sydney Sixers for the inaugural WBBL season. Rugby Union Positions
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Taranaki Rugby, previously the Taranaki Rugby Football Union, is the governing body for rugby union in Taranaki, New Zealand; Taranaki is a region of New Zealand that covers areas in the districts of New Plymouth and South Taranaki. New Plymouth Boys' High School is a single-sex boys' state secondary school in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. The school currently caters for approximately 1300 students, including 210 boarders, on its site. The school often collaborates with the very close-by New Plymouth Girls' High School. 1974 New Zealand Rugby Union Tour Of Ireland, Wales And England
The 1974 New Zealand rugby union tour of Ireland, Wales and England was a series of eight matches played by the New Zealand national rugby union team (the All Blacks) in November 1974. The tour formed part of the celebrations of the centenary of the Irish Rugby Football Union and six of the eight matches were played in Ireland, culminating in the international against the Ireland national rugby union team. The tourists then moved to Wales to play a team designated 'A Welsh XV' but which was in fact a full-strength Wales team. Although neither Wales nor New Zealand awarded caps for the match it was a full international in all but name and attracted a crowd of 50,000 to Cardiff Arms Park for a midweek afternoon match.
