"As the Rush Comes" is a song by American progressive group Motorcycle. Motorcycle was a collaboration between San Francisco-based trance duo Gabriel & Dresden with vocalist Jes. It was released as the group's first single in 2003 and was a number-one single on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Airplay chart in 2004, where it would become the first year-end number-one Dance Airplay track that same year. Additionally, "As the Rush Comes" became a transatlantic hit, peaking at number 11 in the United Kingdom and reaching the top 20 in Finland, Flanders, and the Netherlands. Jes Brieden (born May 10, 1974), known simply as Jes (stylized as JES), is an American singer, songwriter, producer, composer, and DJ from New York. She is a co-founder of the US dance band Motorcycle, who released the world-famous song "As the Rush Comes" in 2003. Early life Jes Brieden, born and raised in New York City, studied art and singing in an art school. She first began experimenting with music production at her friends' studios. By age 16 she made her first vocal recordings as a reference vocalist, and was also working as a backup singer for several major recording labels. After Jes answered an ad in the newspaper called ''The Village Voice'' when she was still a teenager, she recorded her first song. At the time, she sang in various bands. The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.
