Artists Against Bullying (often styled as "Artists Against") was an agglomeration of seven Canadian musicians who united in 2012 to re-record the song " True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper. Amanda Todd
Amanda Michelle Todd (November 27, 1996 – October 10, 2012) was a 15-year-old Canadian student and victim of cyberbullying who hanged herself at her home in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Before her death, Todd posted a video on YouTube in which she used a series of flashcards to tell her experience of being blackmailed into exposing her breasts via webcam, and of being bullied and physically assaulted. The video went viral after her death, resulting in international media attention. The video has had more than 14 million views as of February 2022. Bullying Awareness Week
Bullying Awareness Week is a national campaign in Canada conceived of by Canadian educator anBullying.orgpresident Bill Belsey. It was launched in 2003 by Family Channel and bullying.org. The campaign takes place during the third week each November and aims to raise awareness about bullying amongst students in Canada while promoting positive relationships and providing youth with real-life solutions to help them deal with bullying behaviour. "True Colors" is a song written by American songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. It was both the title track and the first single released from American singer Cyndi Lauper's second album (1986). Released late in the summer of 1986, the song would become a major hit for Lauper, spending two weeks at number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, becoming her last single to occupy the top of the chart.
