Arthur Ford (born 1911, date of death unknown) was an English footballer who played at inside-left for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Port Vale, and Northampton Town. Career Ford played for Wolverhampton Wanderers before joining Port Vale as an amateur in October 1936. He signed professional forms at The Old Recreation Ground in January 1937. He played three Third Division North games and one cup game from March 1937 to the end of the season, before transferring back to Wolves in September 1937. The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The Third Division South of The Football League was a tier in the English football league system from 1921 to 1958. It ran in parallel with the Third Division North with clubs elected to the League or relegated from Division Two allocated to one or the other according to geographical position. Some clubs in the English Midlands shuttled between the Third Division South and the Third Division North according to the composition of the two leagues in any one season.
