Arthur B. Modine
Modine Manufacturing is a thermal management company established in 1916 in the United States. The company started as Modine Manufacturing Company by Arthur B Modine who patented the Spirex radiator for tractors. The Modine company manufactured the Turbotube radiator for Ford Model T cars. The company built the world's first vehicular wind tunnel in Racine, Wisconsin in 1941. During WWII, Modine manufactured aftercoolers for the P-51 Mustang fighter plane. After WWII, Modine introduced the Airditioner HVAC unit for both residential and non-residential applications. The company expanded with a European operation, Modine Schnappling Europe, in 1990 and in 1993 acquired Längerer & Reich, a German heat transfer company founded in 1913. The Ford Model T is an automobile that was produced by Ford Motor Company from October 1, 1908, to May 26, 1927. Intercooler
An intercooler is a heat exchanger used to cool a gas after compression. Often found in turbocharged engines, intercoolers are also used in air compressors, air conditioners, refrigeration and gas turbines. Internal combustion engines Most commonly used with turbocharged engines, an intercooler is used to counteract the heat of compression and heat soak in the pressurised intake air. The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is an American long-range, single-seat fighter aircraft, fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II and the Korean War, among other conflicts. The Mustang was designed in April 1940 by a team headed by James H. Kindelberger of North American Aviation (NAA) in response to a requirement of the British Purchasing Commission. The Purchasing Commission approached North American Aviation to build Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, Curtiss P-40 fighters under license for the Royal Air Force (RAF). Superfund is a United States federal environmental remediation program established by the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA). The program is administered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
