Artan Mërgjyshi
Artan Mërgjyshi (born 6 May 1968) is an Albanian professional football coach and former player. During his playing career, he enjoyed his best years with Partizani, while also having stints with Dinamo Tirana, Erzeni, Besa and Apolonia. He has been a former Albanian international, making one senior appearance in 1996. International career Mërgjyshi has only one cap with Albania. He played his first and only match with ''Red and Blacks'' on 24 April 1996 against the newest national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, playing full-90 minutes in a goalless draw. Management career In January 2015, Mërgjyshi was appointed as manager of struggling Apolonia with the only goal to avoid the team's relegation in Kategoria e Parë. Apolonia, however, was relegated one division lower after losing 1–0 at Niko Dovana Stadium against the survival rivals of Teuta in the penultimate week of the 2014–15 season. Tirana
Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. Niko Dovana Stadium
The Niko Dovana Stadium, officially Stadiumi "Niko Dovana", is a multi-use stadium located in Durrës, Albania. It is the home ground of Teuta. The capacity is 12,040, making it the fifth largest ground in the country. It was renamed in 1991 in honour of former Teuta goalkeeper and financier Niko Dovana. The Albania national football team played in the Niko Dovana Stadium for the first time in a friendly international match against Uzbekistan on 11 August 2010. The stadium has also been used as a shelter in the aftermath of the 2019 Albania earthquake. The Albania national football team has represented Albania in international association football since 1946. The Albanian Football Association (Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit; FSHF) was founded in 1930 and became a member of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association ( FIFA) two years later. 1996–97 Albanian Cup () was the forty-fifth season of Albania's annual cup competition. The football competition began in August 1996 with the First Round and ended on 3 May 1997 with the Final match. The winners of the competition qualified for the 1997-98 first round of the UEFA Cup. KF Tirana were the defending champions, having won their ninth Albanian Cup last season. The cup was won by Partizani. Except of semifinals, other rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score was tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advanced. Albanian Cup
The Albanian Cup ( sq, Kupa e Shqipërisë) is the main "knockout" competition in Albanian football. The competition started in 1939 as Kupa e Mbretit ( English:"The King's Cup"). Just after a year the cup was suspended as the Second World War started. It started again in 1948 as "Kupa e Republikes" ( English: "Republic Cup") and from 1991 as "Kupa e Shqipërisë" (Albanian Cup). Today it is the second most important competition in Albania after the Kategoria Superiore. The winners of the Cup automatically earn the right to participate in the 1st qualifying round of the Europa Conference League. Migen Memelli
Migen Memelli (born 25 April 1980) is an Albanian professional football coach and a former player. Regarded as one of the best strikers of Albanian football, he was known for his goalscoring ability, and has twice been the top goalscorer in the Kategoria Superiore. Club career Early career Memelli began his professional career with Skënderbeu in 1999 as a 19-year-old, where he scored 9 goals in 26 league games but could not help his side further as they finished bottom of the table and were subsequently relegated from the Kategoria Superiore. He also scored 3 times in the Albanian Cup which took his tally to 12 goals for the season in all competitions. He left the club following their relegation and joined Superiore side Teuta in the summer transfer window of 2001, netting 4 times in 19 games in his first season to help his side finish in a respectable 4th place in the league.
