Arrarbi

	Arrarbi Arrarbi ( – ), also known as Arrabi, Arabi Bey, Cowle Bob and Police Bob, was an Aboriginal tracker, police of the Matuntarre people of the region around Tempe Downs Station in the Northern Territory of Australia. He was a guide on the Horn Scientific Expedition to Central Australia, and police tracker and outlaw. He is notable for his many arrests. Early life Arrarbi was identified as a quick learner and useful worker soon after the establishment of Tempe Downs cattle station in 1884. He was nominated as the preferred guide to that region for the Horn Scientific Expedition to Central Australia in 1894, due to his knowledge of the George Gill Range, an area which includes King’s Canyon, and due to his command of at least four local languages. He was later part of a raid by Charles Winnecke that plundered a huge repository of sacred cultural objects, known as tjurunga stones and boards. picture info	Charles Winnecke Charles George Alexander Winnecke (18 November 1857 – 10 September 1902) was an Australian explorer and botanist best known for leading the Horn Expedition to Central Australia in 1894. Biography Winnecke was born in Norwood in South Australia on 18 November 1856. He was educated at St. Peter's College. Winnecke entered the Government Survey Office in Adelaide in 1873 under Surveyor-General George Goyder. He first accompanied the North Eastern Exploring Expedition to survey the border between South Australia and Queensland in 1877. Winnecke travelled through northern South Australia in September 1884. A decade later, he led the Horn Expedition to Central Australia from May to August 1894, a scientific exploration of the regions geology, zoology, botany and Indigenous people. 	George Gill Range George Gill Range is a mountain range in the southern part of Australia's Northern Territory, southwest of Alice Springs. It is an extension of the MacDonnell Ranges and consists mainly of sandstone. In the southern part of the range there are some springs and water holes. Among other things, the Kings Creek flows here, which at the western end created the Kings Canyon over millions of years. This canyon offers over 100 meter high rock walls in various colors, a permanently water-bearing billabong with lush vegetation and is surrounded by a plateau with spectacular stone formations.
