Aronda is a village in the Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra state, India. It is a port on the boundary of Goa and Maharashtra, next to Terekhol River. As of 2011, the village had a population of 2,465. Geography Aronda is located along the southern edge of Sindhudurg district, at an average elevation of 20 metres above the sea level. It has a total land area of 495.48 hectares. Sindhudurg district (Marathi pronunciation: in̪d̪ʱud̪uɾɡ is an administrative district of the Konkan division in India, which was carved out of the erstwhile Ratnagiri district. Terekhol River
The Terekhol or Tiracol River is a river in western India. In its upper reaches it is known as the Banda River and in the lower reaches as the Tiracol. It forms the boundary between Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra state and North Goa district of Goa state for some distance.
