Arne Hendriksen
Arne Olav Weiglin Hendriksen (1 January 1911 – 5 November 1996) was a Norwegian-Swedish ceramic artist and opera singer (tenor). Biography Hendriksen was born in Berlin, Germany. He was trained as a ceramic artist, but had a talent for singing. After studying with Karl Aagard Østvig (1889–1968), he made his debut at Christiania (now Oslo) in 1938. Engaged at the National Theatre in 1940, he worked at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen from 1942 to 1946, before settling in Sweden, where he sang some forty roles at the Stockholm Opera from 1947 to 1964. These included his debut Nemorino and Mozart roles, leading onto Italian Bel canto and Herod in '' Salome''. He appeared at times at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet and enjoyed success as the main character in ''The Tales of Hoffmann'' in 1954, as well as in other productions. ''Les Troyens'' (; in English: ''The Trojans'') is a French grand opera in five acts by Hector Berlioz. The libretto was written by Berlioz himself from Virgil's epic poem the ''Aeneid''; the score was composed between 1856 and 1858. ''Les Troyens'' is Berlioz's most ambitious work, the summation of his entire artistic career, but he did not live to see it performed in its entirety. Under the title ''Les Troyens à Carthage'', the last three acts were premièred with many cuts by Léon Carvalho's company, the Théâtre Lyrique, at their theatre (now the Théâtre de la Ville) on the Place du Châtelet in Paris on 4 November 1863, with 21 repeat performances. After decades of neglect, today the opera is considered by some music critics as one of the finest ever written. Täby () was previously a trimunicipal locality, with 66,292 inhabitants in 2013. However, as from 2016, Statistics Sweden has amalgamated this locality with the Stockholm urban area. It is the seat of Täby Municipality in Stockholm County, Sweden. It was also partly located in Danderyd Municipality (the Enebyberg area) and a very small part in Sollentuna Municipality. Knut Hendriksen
Knut Hendriksen (15 March 1944 – 10 March 2020) was a Norwegian opera director, who worked most of his career at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. Career Hendriksen was appointed at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm from 1969, and stayed there most of his career. His best known productions include ''The Barber of Seville'' (by Rossini, staged in 1998), and ''Tosca'' (by Puccini, staged in 2004). From 1980 to 1984 he was on leave from Stockholm, while he served as director and manager of the Norwegian National Opera. Ole Bull
Ole Bornemann Bull (; 5 February 181017 August 1880) was a Norwegian virtuoso violinist and composer. According to Robert Schumann, he was on a level with Niccolò Paganini for the speed and clarity of his playing. Biography Background Bull was born in Bergen, Norway. He was the eldest of ten children of Johan Storm Bull (1787–1838) and Anna Dorothea Borse Geelmuyden (1789–1875). His brother, Georg Andreas Bull became a noted Norwegian architect. He was also the uncle of Edvard Hagerup Bull, Norwegian judge and politician. His father wished for him to become a minister, but he desired a musical career. At the age of four or five, he could play all of the songs he had heard his mother play on the violin. At age nine, he played first violin in the orchestra of Bergen's theatre and was a soloist with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Ulrik Hendriksen
Ulrik Adolph Hendriksen (March 7, 1891 – January 24, 1960) was a Danish-Norwegian painter and graphic artist. Hendriksen was born in Faaborg, Denmark. He studied restoration techniques at the Berlin Art Academy from 1909 to 1911 and then moved to Norway, where he was an assistant to Emanuel Vigeland. He was highly involved in church conservation until the Second World War. His work was summarized in 1952 in a large-scale photo exhibition of Norwegian decorative painting art. As a painter, he participated in the Autumn Exhibition ( no, Høstutstillingen) in 1919 and he eventually had a permanent atelier. Hendriksen's paintings were featured at exhibitions in Copenhagen, Rome, and Paris (at the 1931 Paris Colonial Exposition), and he is represented in the National Museum of Art, Architecture, and Design.
