Arnaud Danjean
Arnaud Danjean (born 11 February 1971 in Louhans, Saône-et-Loire) is a French politician of the Republicans (LR) who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since the 2009 European election, representing France's East constituency. He was elected a member of the Burgundy Regional Council on 21 March 2010. In parliament, Danjean chairs the European Parliament Subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE), which is a sub-committee of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET). As member of LR, Danjean is also a member of the European People's Party. Joseph Daul
Joseph Alexander Daul (born 13 April 1947) is a French politician who served as President of the European People's Party (EPP) from 2013 to 2019. He previously served as Leader of the EPP Group in the European Parliament from 2007 to 2014 and a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from France from 1999 until 2014. He is a member of The Republicans, part of the EPP. Daul had previously come to prominence as the chairman of the European Parliament's powerful Committee on Agriculture, a position he was elected to on 23 July 2004, and previously, from 2002, as chairman of the Conference of Committee Chairmen. The French legislative elections took place on 10 June and 17 June 2007 to elect the 13th National Assembly of the Fifth Republic, a few weeks after the French presidential election run-off on 6 May. 7,639 candidates stood for 577 seats, including France's overseas possessions. Early first-round results projected a large majority for President Nicolas Sarkozy's UMP and its allies; however, second-round results showed a closer race and a stronger left. CFSP
The Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) is the organised, agreed foreign policy of the European Union (EU) for mainly security and defence diplomacy and actions. CFSP deals only with a specific part of the EU's external relations, which domains include mainly Trade and Commercial Policy and other areas such as funding to third countries, etc. Decisions require unanimity among member states in the Council of the European Union, but once agreed, certain aspects can be further decided by qualified majority voting.
