Arnab Mondal
Arnab Kumar Mondal (born 25 September 1989) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a centre back. Career Born in Behala, a neighborhood based in Kolkata, West Bengal, Mondal joined the youth team of Mohammedan at the age of 17. In 2010, he signed for Prayag United of the I-League and played for the club for two seasons. For the 2011–12 season, Mondal created a partnership in the center of defense Bello Razaq and was also taken under the wing of India international Deepak Mondal. During the summer of 2012, Mondal left Prayag United and joined Kolkata rivals East Bengal. He was quick to become a part of the club's history as he was a goalscorer during the club's 2012 Federation Cup Final match against Dempo. Mondal scored the equalizing goal for East Bengal in the 60th minute that lead to East Bengal winning 3–2 and the Federation Cup. The 2012–13 I-League was the sixth season of the I-League, the Indian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 6 October 2012 and finished on 12 May 2013 with Churchill Brothers crowned champions in matchday 25. Dempo S.C., Dempo were the defending champions, having won their third I-League title the 2011–12 I-League, previous season. On 29 December 2012, Mohun Bagan were barred from competing in the I-League for 2 years following a decision taken by the I League core committee. The DY Patil Stadium, also known as DY Patil Sports Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium at D. Y. Patil campus at Nerul in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was designed by Hafeez Contractor. The 2014 Hero Indian Super League was the first season of the Indian Super League, the top flight football league of India. The season featured eight teams, each playing 14 matches during the regular season.
