Army Industrial College
The Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy (Eisenhower School), formerly known as the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF), is a part of the National Defense University. It was renamed on September 6, 2012, in honor of Dwight D. Eisenhower who graduated from this school when it was previously known as the Army Industrial College. The Eisenhower School is a United States military educational institution tasked with preparing selected military officers and civilians for senior national security leadership positions dealing with the resource component of national power. Staff College
Staff colleges (also command and staff colleges and War colleges) train military officers in the administrative, military staff and policy aspects of their profession. It is usual for such training to occur at several levels in a career. For example, an officer may be sent to various staff courses: as a captain they may be sent to a single service command and staff school to prepare for company command and equivalent staff posts; as a major to a single or joint service college to prepare for battalion command and equivalent staff posts; and as a colonel or brigadier to a higher staff college to prepare for brigade and division command and equivalent postings. Donald Armstrong
Donald Armstrong (April 1889- January 11, 1984) was a brigadier general in the United States Army during World War II. During the war, he commanded the Tank Automotive Center, the Ordnance Replacement Training Center, and was commandant of the Army Industrial College. Early life Armstrong was born in April 1889 in Stapleton, New York. Prior to military service, he attend Columbia University and received a bachelor's degree in arts in 1909 and a Masters in Art in 1910. Military career On September 10, 1910, Armstrong was commissioned in the Coast Artillery Corps. During World War I, he was stationed in France. He participated during the Champagne and Meuse-Argonne offensives. In 1919, Armstrong was assistant military attaché to the United States Embassy in Paris. Joint Professional Military Education
Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) is a form of Professional Military Education (PME) in the United States that emphasizes a multiservice approach. Joint Professional Military Education was established following greater awareness during World War II of a need for effective cooperation between the branches of the United States armed forces. While some institutions had previously served to provide joint training, notably the Army and Navy Staff College that operated in the last years of the War, the first senior school for Joint Professional Military Education was founded in 1946 under the direction of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The 1986 passage of the Goldwater–Nichols Act caused increased interest in Joint Professional Military Education and created a standard. James V
James V (10 April 1512 – 14 December 1542) was King of Scotland from 9 September 1513 until his death in 1542. He was crowned on 21 September 1513 at the age of seventeen months.
