Armenia Men's National Junior Ice Hockey Team
The Armenia men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team in Armenia. The team is managed by the Ice Hockey Federation of Armenia, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. History Armenia played its first game during the 2006 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships against Iceland which they lost 50–0. The game is recorded as Armenia's largest loss in international participation. The game was part of the Division I tournament being held in Elektrenai, Lithuania. Armenia finished last in the tournament after losing all four of their games against Bulgaria, Iceland, Lithuania, and Turkey. The following year they competed at the 2007 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships Division III tournament being held in Ankara, Turkey. The Ice Hockey Federation of Armenia ( hy, Հայաստանի հոկեյի ֆեդերացիա, Hayastani tap’oghakov hokeyi federats’ia), sometimes called the Armenian Ice Hockey Federation, is the Armenian national ice hockey federation. Its headquarters are based in Yerevan. The president, Vahram Sargsyan, is also the Chairman of the Armenian National Federation of Bandy. History The Ice Hockey Federation of Armenia was established in 1999. The Armenian National Federation of Bandy is administered concurrently by President Vahram Sargsyan. The Federation is a full member of the Federation of International Bandy and an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. The South Africa men's national under-20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team of South Africa. The team is controlled by the South African Ice Hockey Federation and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). 2007 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2007 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2007 WJHC'') was the 2007 edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship and was held in Mora and Leksand, Sweden between December 26, 2006 and January 5, 2007. The venues were FM Mattsson Arena in Mora, and Ejendals Arena in Leksand. The total attendance was a significant drop off from the 325,000-plus visitors at the previous World Juniors in British Columbia, Canada. For 2007, the tournament round-robin format was changed from previous years to resemble more closely the format used in the National Hockey League. Teams would receive three points for a win in regulation, while teams winning in overtime would receive two points. Teams losing in overtime would receive one point.
