''Armed and Dangerous'' is the title of a cult favourite comic book published by Valiant Comics. The book revolves around a group of Irish mafioso in New York city and their acquaintances. The stories, written and drawn by Bob Hall, are all black and white and of the comic-noir genre (made popular by Sin City ''Sin City'' is a series of neo-noir comics by American comic book writer-artist Frank Miller. A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. Valiant Comics is an American comic book publisher. The company was founded in 1989 by former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Jim Shooter along with lawyer and businessman Steven Massarsky. In 1994, the company was sold to Acclaim Entertainment. The company was restarted as part of Valiant Entertainment by entrepreneurs Dinesh Shamdasani and Jason Kothari in 2005 after Acclaim declared bankruptcy in 2004. Bob Hall (comics)
Robert "Bob" Hall (October 16, 1944) is an American comics artist and writer as well as a playwright and theatre director. He is the co-creator of the West Coast Avengers for Marvel Comics and has worked on such series as '' Armed and Dangerous'' and '' Shadowman'', which he both drew and wrote for Valiant Comics. Biography Education Hall studied theater at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and earned a bachelor's and master's degree there. Moving to New York in the early 1970s, he took courses at John Buscema's school of comic art and The New School. Comics Hall began working in the comics industry in 1974 and drew horror stories for Charlton Comics. He soon moved to Marvel Comics and drew ''The Champions'' and ''Super-Villain Team-Up''. ''Sin City'' is a series of neo-noir comics by American comic book writer-artist Frank Miller. The first story originally appeared in ''Dark Horse Presents Fifth Anniversary Special'' (April 1991), and continued in ''Dark Horse Presents'' #51–62 from May 1991 to June 1992, under the title of ''Sin City'', serialized in thirteen parts.
