Arjun Halappa
Arjun Halappa (born 13 December 1980) is a professional Indian hockey player and former captain of Indian Hockey Team. Career Midfield maestro Arjun Halappa is the son of former East Bengal Hockey Club player B. K. Halappa, He hails from Kodagu (Coorg) District, Karnataka. He joined the Centre of Excellence in 1998 and a year later played his first Senior Nationals at Hyderabad, and was picked among the 72 probables for a conditioning camp. He made his junior international debut in the Europe tour same year under coaches C.R. Kumar and Harendera. He posted eight goals in the 2000 Junior Asia Cup. He made his international debut for the Men's National Team in March 2001 against Egypt in the Prime Minister's Gold Cup. Halappa represented India at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where India finished in seventh place. He represented India at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, where India finished in second place. Somwarpet (''somavārapēte'', also written ''Somvarpet'') is a panchayat town in Coorg district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Karnataka. Hockey Junior World Cup
The Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, formerly known as the Hockey Junior World Cup, is an international field hockey competition organized by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was started in 1979. Since 1985 it has been held every four years.With the exception of the 2021 tournament,competitors must be under the age of 21 as of December 31 in the year before the tournament is held. There is also a corresponding event for the women's junior teams. This competition started in 1989 and uses the same format as the men's event. Five countries have dominated the event's history. Germany is the most successful team, having won the tournament six times followed by Argentina and India, having won the tournament two times. Australia and Pakistan have each won the tournament once. The 2009 Junior World Cup was held jointly between Malaysia and Singapore, with Germany defeating the Netherlands 3–1 in the final.
