Arizona State Railroad Museum
The Arizona State Railroad Museum Foundation (ASRM) is a non-profit organization that primarily preserves historic railroad equipment that was once used throughout the state of Arizona. It was founded in 2009, and it is located in Williams, Arizona alongside the Grand Canyon Railway. Their goal is to construct a 21-acre museum to attract a world-wide audience with a collection of locomotives, rolling stock, and other historic artifacts. Magma Arizona Railroad
The Magma Arizona Railroad was built by the Magma Copper Company and operated from 1915 to 1997. The railroad was originally built as a narrow gauge line, but was converted to in 1923. Originally headquartered in Superior, Arizona, the company primarily hauled cattle and copper on of standard gauge track to and from the Southern Pacific mainline in Magma, Arizona, between Florence and Queen Creek. BHP purchased the Magma Copper Company and its lines in 1996 for A$3.2 billion and suspended rail operations on this line a year later. The Magma was the last industrial short line railroad to use steam power, dieselizing on September 4, 1968. ALCO RS-3
The ALCO RS-3 is a , B-B diesel-electric locomotive manufactured from May 1950 to August 1956 by American Locomotive Company (ALCO) and its subsidiary Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW). A total of 1,418 were produced: 1,265 for American railroads, 98 for Canadian railroads, 48 for Brazilian railroads, and seven for Mexican railroads. The successor to the RS-1 and RS-2, the RS-3 was built with a single 12-cylinder ALCO Model 244 engine. The RS-3 greatly resembled the design and appearance of its predecessor, but had 100 more hp (1,600 hp) and some changes to the fuel system and body shape. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway , often referred to as the Santa Fe or AT&SF, was one of the larger railroads in the United States. The railroad was chartered in February 1859 to serve the cities of Atchison, Kansas, Atchison and Topeka, Kansas, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. The railroad reached the Kansas–Colorado border in 1873 and Pueblo, Colorado, in 1876. ALCO S-2 And S-4
The ALCO S-2 and S-4 were diesel electric switchers produced by ALCO and Canadian licensee Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW). Powered by turbocharged, 6-cylinder ALCO 539 diesel engines, the two locomotives differed mainly in their trucks: the S-2 had ALCO "Blunt" trucks; the S-4, AAR type A switcher trucks. A total of 1,502 S-2s were built from August 1940 to June 1950; 797 S-4s were built from June 1949 to August 1957. The S-4 was first produced in Canada, with ALCO production beginning in June 1949. The EMD NW2 is a , B-B switcher locomotive manufactured by General Motors Electro-Motive Division of La Grange, Illinois. From February 1939 to December 1949, EMD produced 1,145 NW2s: 1,121 for U.S. and 24 for Canadian railroads. Starting in late 1948, the NW2s were manufactured in EMD's Plant #3 in Cleveland, Ohio. The locomotives were powered by a 12-cylinder model 567 engine and later a model 567A engine.
