Arit Anderson
Arit Anderson is a British garden designer, writer, and television presenter. She has presented on the BBC show ''Gardeners World'' and the BBC One show ''Garden Rescue''. Biography Anderson was born in London and raised in Hertfordshire by a single mother in a home with six siblings, five of whom were in foster care. After first pursuing a career as a pharmacy technician, she worked in the fashion industry for about 25 years. In 2010, she moved out of North London into a home with a garden, and later began a course in garden design at Capel Manor College while continuing to work for a retail consultancy. Gardeners World
''Gardeners' World'' is a long-running British gardening programme, first broadcast on 5 January 1968. The 2022 series is the 53rd. Its first series was presented by Ken Burras and came from University of Oxford Botanic Garden, Oxford Botanical Gardens. Up until 2020 most of its episodes have been 30 minutes in duration; however, this changed in spring 2020 when the format was extended to an hour. All episodes in the 2021 series onwards follow this 60-minute format. ''Gardeners' World'' currently airs between mid-March and late October on BBC Two every Friday. The programme usually takes a three-month winter break from November to February. The programme's main presenter is currently Monty Don. BBC One
BBC One is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. Hertfordshire ( or ; often abbreviated Herts) is one of the home counties in southern England. Capel Manor College
__NOTOC__ Capel Manor College is a special environmental college located in Enfield, London. The College has six campuses across the capital, Brooks Farm (Leyton), Crystal Palace Park, Enfield, Gunnersbury Park, Mottingham and Regent’s Park. It has a body of over 3,000 students that is a mixture of school leavers and adults. History In 1913 the Capel Manor estate in Enfield was privately owned by the Warren family, who were tea merchants, before being sold to Colonel Sydney Medcalf in 1932. Colonel Medcalf was passionate about horticulture and Clydesdale horses, and introduced soil steam sterilization to the Lea Valley Glasshouse industry. After the Colonel’s death in 1958, parts of the estate were sold off and it became quite neglected. However, it was Frances Perry, a local horticulturist, who succeeded with her vision of transforming the Capel Manor estate into a horticultural college with gardens open to the public.
