Aris Limassol
Aris Limassol (Greek: ''Άρης Λεμεσού'') is a Cypriot football club based in Limassol and one of the founder members of Cyprus Football Association. The club's colours are green, black and white, and their home is the Tsirion Stadium. Founded in 1930, Aris Limassol is one of the most historic football clubs of Limassol. The club also maintains teams in other sports including basketball, table tennis and chess. The Aris chess team dominated Cypriot chess in the 1980s. History One of the founder members of the Cyprus Football Association, Aris competed in the first five seasons of the Cypriot First Division, with their league placement ranging from 5th to 7th. The club ceased operation in 1939 due to financial difficulties, and returned in 1952, competing in the Second Division. The Alphamega Stadium, also known as Limassol Arena, is a football stadium in Kolossi, Limassol District, Cyprus and was constructed by the Cyprus Sports Organization (CSO). The stadium holds 10,700 people and was opened in 25 November 2022. It is the home ground of the 3 biggest clubs of Limassol AEL Limassol, Apollon Limassol and Aris Limassol. Name The official name of the stadium is Alphamega Stadium. This name resulted from a sponsorship collaboration between the stadium management company and the Alphamega Hypermarkets for the use of the supermarket's name as the stadium's trade name. Vanailson Luciano de Souza Alves (born 25 April 1991), commonly known as Vaná, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as goalkeeper for Cypriot First Division club Aris Limassol.
