Jorge Martín Arturo Argüello (born 20 April 1956) is an Argentine politician and diplomat. He is the Ambassador of Argentina to the United States. Argüello served as Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations between 2007 and 2011, and was designated Ambassador of Argentina to the United States during 2011-2013. In 2013 was appointed Ambassador of Argentina to Portugal. Life and public service Argüello was born in Córdoba in 1956 as the first of four children by Jorge Marcelo Argüello Varela and Raquel Luque Colombres. Leonardo Argüello Barreto
Leonardo Argüello Barreto (29 August 1875 – 15 December 1947) was a Nicaraguan politician who, after several attempts, became the President of Nicaragua in 1947. He served from 1 May to 27 May 1947. His older brother was the noted poet Santiago Arguello Barreto. A member of the Nationalist Liberal Party, his presidency was cut short by a Coup d'état orchestrated by the Commander of the National Guard, General Anastasio Somoza García. Miriam Argüello
Miriam Argüello Morales (February 22, 1927 – February 7, 2019) was a politician from Nicaragua. A lawyer by training, she was the first woman to become president of the National Assembly of Nicaragua, where she served as a deputy for 22 years. She was elected Assembly president in 1990, defeating Alfredo César Aguirre though he had the support of Nicaraguan President Violeta Chamorro. However, César prevailed the following year, replacing Argüello in 1991. In 1996, Argüello ran for President of Nicaragua as a member of the Popular Conservative Alliance (APC). Roberto Argüello
Roberto Argüello (born 12 May 1963) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. Career Argüello was an ambidextrous player, capable of using right-handed shots for balls to his right and left-handed stokes for balls to the left of him. He however favoured a two-handed forehand and backhand. The Argentine was the 1977 Junior Orange Bowl champion and four years later won the Under-18s Orange Bowl. In 1982, the year of the Falklands War, he left tennis in order to serve with the Argentine Army. He played just one tournament that season, the Buenos Aires Open in February. Argüello returned to the Grand Prix tennis circuit in 1983 and made an immediate impression, winning the Venice Open, as a qualifier.
