Arena Yerofey (russian: Арена «Ерофей») is a bandy arena in Khabarovsk, Russia, hosting the 2015 Bandy World Championship. The 2018 Bandy World Championship was also hosted there, but only Division A that time around. The arena was built in 2013, is 46,000 m2 and can seat 10,000 spectators. It is named after Yerofey Khabarov, the city's eponym. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). Sandviken is a locality and the seat of Sandviken Municipality in Gävleborg County, Sweden with 39,234 inhabitants in 2019. Göransson Arena is an indoor arena in Sandviken, Sweden. It opened in 2009 and holds up to 10,000 people at music events and 4,000 spectators for bandy. History The building of the arena was financed by the Göransson Foundations, established by Göran Fredrik Göransson who founded the Sandvik corporation. SKA-Neftyanik (russian: СКА-Нефтяник) is a professional bandy club from Khabarovsk, Russia, established in 1947. It plays in the Russian Bandy Super League, the top division of Russian bandy. The Bandy World Championship is a competition between bandy-playing nations' men's teams. The tournament is administrated by the Federation of International Bandy. It is distinct from the Bandy World Cup, a club competition, and from the Women's Bandy World Championship. A Youth Bandy World Championship also exists separately from the senior competition and has competitions in both the male and female categories.
